Find out more about everything the IWE, Harrogate, has to offer below:

HILL CLIMB

An unprecedented opportunity to drive the longest speed hill climb course in the country. Harewood is one of the leading venues for the British Speed Hill Climb Championship, the course is located in some of the most scenic West Yorkshire countryside and has viewing facilities unrivalled by any other British hill climb venue. Virtually the whole course can be viewed from the spectator areas at the top of the hill. Runs will be untimed and non-competitive but will give entrants a very good feel for what this very specialized form of motor sport is all about. If you haven’t booked in advance then we will be operating a ‘first come first served’ system from 0930 to 1800 on Friday 29th July, spectators are also welcome.

AUTOTEST

On Saturday we are holding our autosolo competition, it is suitable for any road legal car and any standard of driver. No previous experience of competition of any sort is necessary and the event is aimed at complete beginners. The entry fee is just £10 for three runs at the course and there are trophies up for grabs in all classes. Why not challenge your mates to a little ‘friendly’ competition; it’s sure to provide enough banter to last the rest of the year! Prize giving will be at 1730 on Saturday.

THE RUSS SWIFT PRECISION DRIVING DISPLAY

On Saturday Russ will be demonstrating his amazing driving skills at 1030 and 1400, this is a show that tours worldwide so don’t miss it. He will also hopefully be showing us how the autosolo should be done (Russ is four time British Autotest Champion) so come along and be inspired to have a go.

50 YEARS OF THE TR4

As part of the TR4’s fiftieth anniversary celebrations Jon Marshall (our TR4 Registrar) and Ian Cornish (our Hon Vice Pres) have been working hard to put together a wide range of historic TR4s and interesting people. On Saturday we will have a static display of cars and paraphernalia inside the concours hall and on Sunday we will have at strong TR4 focus in the arena, both cars and personalities. We will also have some very limited edition celebratory prints to buy and a massed TR4 photo as well as a cake to cut (and eat).

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT

Friday night: Ceilidh, Bar and Fish and Chips at the Stockmen's Pavilion. A great chance to catch up with old friends and hopefully meet some new ones.

Saturday night: The children’s Circus Skills workshop at 1800 is great entertainment for all the family, learn to juggle and try your hand on the unicycle and tight rope (mums and dads can have a go too). Afterwards the grown-ups(?) can dance until late at the disco, both events take place at the Stockmen’s Pavilion.

TRADE STANDS AND AUTOJUMBLE

Trade stands will be in Hall 1 and nearby outside areas. Outside areas have also been set aside for autojumble and cars for sale, to help buyers and sellers alike. Autojumble pitches are available to members for private sales (not Trade); these are free for members selling a small amount of autojumble, but if an extra pitch is required there will be a charge of £10. Trade show hours are 09.30 - 17.00 on Saturday and 09.30 - 16.00pm on Sunday. Security staff will prevent access to the Trade Hall outside of these times.

BRING AND BUY

The Wharfedale Group will be running the 'Bring and Buy' stalls this year. This is a chance for TR Register members to clear some space in their garages or maybe pick up a few spare parts that they need. Remember one member’s junk is another member's treasure. A maximum of five items can be sold by each member at a moderate commission depending on sale price. Members with more than five items to sell should consider an autojumble stand.

TECHNICAL SEMINARS

Come and learn more about your car. Technical Seminars and demonstrations will be held in the Forestry Pavilion on Saturday. All seminars are free.

NON-TECHNICAL SEMINARS

For those that have had enough of TRs we will be holding a programme of non technical seminars in the Forestry Pavilion on Sunday. Check the programme or ask at the information desk for details. These seminars are free too.

FUN RUN DRIVE AND QUIZ

Enjoy a drive out into the Yorkshire countryside, planned by Ian Landen (our East Riding Group Leader). The route is available from the Information desk, and will take you through beautiful local countryside on scenic roads. This is not a convoy run – take it at your leisure! Complete the associated quiz, and return it to the information desk by 1300 Sunday for a chance to win a prize.

If you’ve used the TR Register forum and often wondered who everyone else was then this is your chance to find out. Mid day Saturday at the Channel Islands Group pitch on the camp site.

OVERSEAS VISITORS PARADE AND RECEPTION

If you have travelled from overseas to be here with us then we think that is something to shout about, come and join in the overseas visitors parade and fly the flag (literally). The parade will form up at the autosolo location at 1700 on Saturday and do a tour of the showground. Then at 1800 all overseas visitors are invited to a reception in the bar at Stockmen’s Pavilion.

FREE COACH SERVICE TO HARROGATE AND HARLOW CARR GARDENS
