TR Register wins Classic & Sports Car Best Club Website Award 2009
Chris Cunnington was presented with the award by Simon Taylor of Autosport at the NEC Classic and Sports Car Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening 14th Nov 2009.
We would like to thank all members of the team and the members of the TR Register, without whom regular updates to the website would not be possible.
Below is a citation from the award ceremony itself:
Motor sport commentator and Classic & Sport Car columnist Simon Taylor, who was the compère for the Classic & Sports Car Club Awards, said: “We kick off with the internet, with nominations this year dominated by sports car clubs. All three of our leading contenders cite the web as not only a source of information – historical and technical – but also as an important way of gaining new members. In fact, one of our runners-up says that 90% of its new members come via its website. Joint runners-up are the TVR Car Club and MG Car Club, but they were edged by a one-time rival British firm.
“Our winning site is packed with info on the club and its activities, including future events, competition news and a gallery of event photos – plus detailed sections on various models, each of which opens with ‘The Knowledge’. It has recently added a Twitter link (whatever that is), and you don’t have to be a member of the club to look at any part of the site, or download any of its handy buyer’s guides. The winner is the TR Register website, at www.tr-register.co.uk”
Again, many thanks to all the TR Register members who make all this possible.
